Terms and Conditions

Introduction

These terms and conditions apply to all work carried out by Fleet Office Interiors. By requesting a quote, accepting a proposal, or permitting us to access your site, you agree to these terms. We are Fleet Office Interiors, a commercial fit out company operating in London and the South East. You are the client, property owner, or authorised representative.

Quotations and Proposals

All quotes are provided in writing. A quote is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. The quote includes labour, materials, and certification costs as listed. It does not include VAT, which is added at the current rate. It does not include building control fees, planning permission costs, or third party utility connections unless specifically stated.

Acceptance and Commencement

Work begins when you sign the proposal and pay any deposit requested. A deposit of up to 30 percent of the total project value may be required for larger fit outs. The start date is confirmed in writing. Delays caused by the client, including late site access or unfinished preparatory work, may move the start date.

Site Conditions and Access

You must provide safe and unobstructed access to the site during agreed working hours. You must inform us of any asbestos, hazardous materials, or structural issues before work starts. We reserve the right to stop work immediately if unsafe conditions are discovered. Additional costs arising from hazardous material removal or unexpected structural work are charged separately.

Changes to the Scope

Any changes to the original proposal must be agreed in writing. Variation orders will include additional cost and time estimates. No work on variations begins without your written approval. Verbal requests are not binding.

Payment Terms

Invoices are issued at project milestones or upon completion as stated in the proposal. Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date. Late payments incur interest at 5 percent above the Bank of England base rate. We reserve the right to stop work on unpaid invoices.

Warranties and Guarantees

We warrant that all work is carried out with reasonable skill and care. Workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of practical completion. This guarantee covers defects arising from faulty installation. It does not cover damage caused by the client, third parties, or normal wear and tear. Fire doors, partitions, and suspended ceilings carry manufacturer warranties as certified. Copies are provided on request.

Liability

Our total liability for any claim arising from our work is limited to the total value of the contract. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses including loss of business, loss of rent, or loss of staff productivity. Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Completion and Handover
Practical completion occurs when the work is finished and the site is clean and safe. You or your representative will be invited to inspect the work. Any minor defects or snags are listed and rectified within 10 working days. Sign off of the completion certificate confirms acceptance.

Termination

Either party may terminate the contract with written notice if the other party commits a material breach and fails to remedy it within 14 days. We may terminate immediately if you fail to pay any undisputed invoice within 30 days of its due date. Upon termination, you pay for all work completed and materials ordered up to that date.

Applicable Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of London.

Entire Agreement

These terms constitute the entire agreement between us. No other statements, whether written or oral, shall apply.
